Seven Seals 3.3: Sun Goes Dark?

Even the sixth seal can be read as revealing some rather familiar things. The tectonic plate collisions that give rise to earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, spectacular sunsets, the sky darkened by dust particles, the air made foul, the water polluted, you name it... have taken place throughout history and continue to this day.
Admittedly, the idea of the sun, moon and stars changing colour and falling to earth does sound a bit apocalyptic, but even that can be dulled down.
Joseph, the son of Jacob was a dreamer and had some interesting dreams. In Genesis 37 there is a report of a dream which contains imagery that will appear in the Book of Revelation. Joseph dreams the sun, moon and stars are worshipping him. The imagery is clear to all concerned.
the Sun (his dad, Jacob later renamed Israel),
the moon (his mum, Rachel) and
the stars (his brothers, the twelve tribes of Israel)
So the astronomical changes could just be a poetic way of talking about Israel entering a period of great tribulation
After the sixth seal has been broken the narrative takes a more Jewish emphasis (Revelation 7:1-4)
After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
Chosen ones as good as dead
Sun turned black, and moon blood red
The stars are not in heaven found
The sky scrolled up, it all comes tumbling down

Sun Turns Dark? Israel’s Great Tribulation?
